Sunflower Garden offers : 

Sunflower

Children’s Group work

Regular sets of 12 week group work sessions for up to 8 children working on themes such as loss, fear, expressing anxieties and moving on to look at strategies to manage these. 

Individual Work

Workers use a variety of approaches to help children understand and work through issues in their lives on a 1:1 basis.

Activity Groups

Sunflower Garden runs regular skill-based activity groups which help children learn new skills as well as accessing the benefits of groupwork. In the past we have run judo courses and football courses in partnership with professional organisations. GSunflowerroupwork with the youngest children often has an activity focus.

New skills can be learnt and social experience are provided for the children. Respect for others is a key theme of these groups, as is sharing and working together. The Sunflower Garden is now currently working on future developments for Children's Activity Groups.

Consultation and Parent Work

Sunflower Garden has a limited capacity to advise and help other professionals dealing with how alcohol and drugs affect children. The project has links with other agencies who can offer family work but occasionally has space to undertake some family work particularly where there are very young children.
