Post Qualifying Course in Counselling: Children & Young People

Course Information

This is a post qualifying course, for individuals who have a Diploma in Counselling and are looking to continue their professional and personal development in the field of counselling children and young people.

 The course will offer:

  • a practical skills exploration of methods of counselling children and young people,
  • exploration of a range of media which enable children to tell their story and be validated in their experience,
  • the use of sand, models, music, colour, animals, puppets and toys set in a developmental context,
  • an examination of legal and ethical matters relating to children and young people

These elements are designed to give you confidence in adapting your existing skills to work therapeutically with children and young people.

Meet the Tutor: Rachel Hudson

Rachel is an experienced and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer. She holds a Masters degree in Integrative Psychotherapy and has 15 years experience in practice, following a successful career in teaching and youth work. She established and ran a counselling service in Birmingham Senior School, and has created and taught counselling courses up to Masters level in Counselling Children & Young People.
