Managing Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviours sessions at Simpson House

These sessions use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) tools to help you explore issues and develop skills.  For example in reducing drug use or managing anxiety. Your sessions will be tailored to what you would like to work on and support you to explore your thoughts and beliefs, identify and manage emotions working towards developing healthier coping behaviours to achieve your goals.

Some of the topics we cover include:

  • Managing anxiety

  • Modifying thoughts and beliefs

  • Relapse prevention

  • Identifying changes you want to make and planning for change

  • Building non-judgemental awareness of why you do the things you do

  • Developing self-compassion in place of self-criticism

  • Exercising choice in behaviours and decisions
